I've just finished a book on the origins and place names of Brittany [Quimper-Vannes] and another on the rues of Paris will be completed shortly. This follows a book on the street names of Colombo [Colombo-Jumbo] following a 4œ-year stint in Sri Lanka as a corporate trainer with the British Council.

Coming soon to France (July) - A charity that we founded in the UK now in 40 countries worldwide, supporting children who have to wear external appendages for life-sustaining treatment - colostomy bags, use of a catheter to relieve bladders, feeding tubes, cardiac and renal lines etc. In the UK there are over 700,000 with one or more appliances they will need for the rest of their lives. In France, figures are substantially lower but support is needed. We provide puppets with identical appendages to help body image issues and as educational tools to help them show their friends what has happened to them. We are hoping to hear from some volunteers interested in sewing and fundraising in France. (Each puppet is made individually to match each individual child's condition, gender and ethnicity. Hi everyone,
I have two jobs! I run chambres d'hotes, with three rooms for up to nine guests, providing an optional gourmet evening meal (which we eat with our guests; we have made some great friends doing this) and I also teach English as a foreign language. I teach two adult classes at a local organisation for integration and I have a few private students as well. Both jobs blend really well together and I love my life here!
