What do you all do? Post your links here!

I will definitely keep your details for our Gite customers when we get them!

I'm still offering IT and PC support to people in N Lyon and the Beaujolais. Have also helped a couple of people further afield who needed help with website and other problems thanks to contacts made via SFN.

How interesting Simon! We will certainly keep you in mind if we get no customers in our Gites this first year and have to sell up! We are in the north Dordogne, Piegut Pluviers.

Hello All,

And another B&B to add to the list, located in Normandy.

We've just opened this year (possibly the worst time to start, but still optimistic) after extensive refurbishments and developing the website.

We also plan to provide local tours, etc. for our guests.

This is a real long shot but I have a neighbour, an English lady approximately 70 years old that bought a house in our new domaine 5 years ago. After her husband passed away, very sad, she bought what she considered to be a smaller house. The house is new, 5 years old and immaculate. I know the house as I do most of the work and gardening. Now she wants to sell it and buy an apartment here. She is rarely here now but lives in the UK. It is a 4 bedroom house with a nice garage and very nice garden. There is more than enough room for a pool and it backs onto one of the best golf courses in the VAR. The price is right at around 500,000 although you can ask her directly. She would be grateful to me for finding a buyer. Estate agents are so busy and have so many properties for sale that her property is getting little exposure however it is perfect for the right buyer. Her neighbour with an identical house rents the house 1 or 2 weeks per year in high season and realizes approx 2000 euros per week.

My husband and I recently bought a group of three Gites along with our main house in Piegut Pluviers in the north Dordogne. Unfortunately the previous owner had run the business down to a stop and so we are having to start from scratch to build up some customers which we’ve realised is harder than it seems.

There are a number of things which we want to improve about the Gites and the grounds but these will have to be eked out over time because of lack of funds. We are also waiting to be classified and get our stars but there is a long backlog for getting this done.

We are willing to give juicy discounts off stays here for our first year and are open to offers.

You can see what we look like on Chez Nous under Les Gites De L’Ancienne Gare, Piegut Pluviers, Dordogne.

Please give us a thought when booking a holiday. We hope to promote the Gites as a relaxing holiday venue which is on the edge of the small but lively market town.

Hello,

My name is Amanda Garnham and I organise truly bespoke tours of Gascony, southwest France under the name of Glamour & Gumboots. I am also the Attachée de Presse for the Armagnac bureau and have been since 2003 so I have access to all of the Armagnac/wine producers and can organise exclusive tours and tastings either for individuals or small groups.

It is a wonderful way to get to know this beautiful region and can be tailored to suit all types of budget. I work with some delightful chambres d'hôtes and some lovely chateaux.

Please take a look at my website www.glamourandgumboots.com that will give you an idea of how it works.

I am on Facebook under Amanda Garnham, Instagram is Amanda.Garnham and my Twitter name is Armagnacmaniac. My email address is amanda.garnham(at)orange.fr and I live in the Gers, not far from Condom.

I also translate from French into English.

Look forward to hearing from you.

What a great thread!

I am still a lurker - living in UK but with an aim of buying in France - sooner rather than later.

It's great to read what everyone does.

:)

I help design and manage projects by default as my neighbours are absent most of the year and need an easy mark to foist stuff onto. My wife is far more professional and deals with international execs that need coaching to reach the next level.

I would really enjoy fee based financial advisory work in France as from my petit experience it is needed. I am however not qualified in France.

In my spare time I am a darn good triathlon coach (cycling mostly) but as with financial advisory I am not qualified in France. I consider myself an expert Rose drinker.

An update to my original posting on June 15 2015

The company has evolved. It launched in Europe in October 2015 as Modere and I am now an Independant Modere Social Marketer. The same great natural products for personal care and your home and also a range of nutritional supplements for your health.

There is a great online shop www.bien-etre-alternatives.com which links directly to the Modere boutique. There is a 10 Euros discount waiting for you if you use the Promo Code: 639216 on your first order.

There is a 2nd website for information on joining and running a home-based business https://vanessalees.shiftingretail.eu/

I'm Alison and I'm a letter-cutter....I engrave stone (gravure sur pierre)..now these could be a very special present idea for you. Practical stuff too: house names, grave stones, plaques, lintels

I am a partner with my brother William in High Point Holidays and we specialise in guided and self-guided walking holidays in France and the UK.

The French wing of the business is Randonnees Outre Manche (www.randonnees-outre-manche.com) with its base in Gleize and the UK company is High Point Holidays (www.highpointholidays.co.uk) with its base in Somerset.

So if you want to explore a region of France you've not been to, you can see all the holidays in English on the UK site (if you wish) and use the France contact details on the French site to speak to William. Or you could use it as an opportunity to explore more of your own region. The French website is still work in progress, although it is 'mobile friendly' whereas the UK site has all the holidays and a lot of extra info' but it has not yet moved to a 'mobile friendly' platform.

There are Facebook pages as well as other social media. I won't list them here, but the details are on the website if anyone wants to use them.

As Gleize is on the edge of the Beaujolais region, we have a number of walking holidays there, as well as Burgundy, Tarn, Jura, Alsace, Ardeche, Lot, Dordogne and more.

If there are any travel writers that have experience in writing and submitting to relevant UK or French publications that may be interested in doing a piece on a few days walking on one of our French holidays, please e-mail me with details of experience/website and any proposals/conditions etc. mark@highpointholidays.co.uk

Thanks

I'm an Estate Agent - covering the west of the Dordogne and south Charente. My Facebook page is here: https://www.facebook.com/danallezfrancais/?ref=bookmarks

Please drop me line if you are thinking of selling...especially around €299k

I've got some cracking Chateaux for sale, and a few project properties too.

Despite the recent drop in £-€ rate, there are plenty of viewers out there!

Cheers,

Dan

... I also manage my family estate on The Bassin d'Arcachon, on the Atlantic.

Currently renovating the huge family house : a lot of work ... anybody interested in advising on roofing, new heating, etc ?

With the help of my son, I'm also selling a plot of land "constructible" and selling pine trees from a plot of forest .

So I'm very busy & doing a lot of travelling accorss France;

These different "casquettes" are very interesting , but also stressfull & tiring on top of my main teaching profession.
