Apparently, I had one set up during the arrangement of my new CA account package.
I have read the blurb from CA twice now and am none the wiser.

Were you or your family ever members of the Co-op? Which is a mutual so you get benefits from being adhered to it.
With French banks you become a “member” of the bank for a fixed amount per unit (?) and have a different debit card that pays a pittance to a good cause nd you get points. Nit sure what these points give you tho’. With the Co-Op you could actually buy stuff.
Parts sociales are basically a way for Crédit Agricole to get you a bit more involved in the life of your bank. They probably get more loyalty from their customers this way, and you get invited to a yearly assembly to meet people whose projects got support and / or funding from the bank. You also get to vote for representatives who, in turn, choose the next projects.
Those shares get you a little bit of money at the end of the year, nothing to get excited about, and you get a slightly better interest rate on your savings account.
I have the same from CA. Get a few euros interest each year which they also inform the fisc and they confirm your parts socials too as do CA in an attestation each year. Basically a shareholder on a very small scale is how I would describe it. If you look on your Avis d’impôts it will be marked automatically as to the parts.
