Me and Monsieur have the lurgi so we’re on the comfort food special today.
Lunch is boudin noir, apple purée and mash.
Dinner is going to be steak and spinach. I got a total craving for red meat and green stuff this morning so dashed out to the shops to stock up. I may have also bought some gourmet ice cream…
Biocoop has Spanish asparagus atm, so I’ve steamed that to have with lemon mayo.
And for later a thickish red lentil, tomato and courgette soup.
I read somewhere last week that we were being urged to purchase leeks - can’t remember why but we like them anyway. So I bought some and made some leek and potato soup yesterday. I’ve probably got about enough for another six portions which I will freeze, but we will be having some with a crusty baguette (mine with butter, Stuart’s au naturel).
Hope your lurgi isn’t serious @cat. Look after each other and enjoy your ice cream ![]()
Sorry to hear you are lurgi-ed up @cat
Today’s lunch menu was roast chicken crown with roast spuds and peas and carrots, followed by caramel panne cotta (courtesy of Sainsbury’s).
Tonight will be left-over pizza!
Not very haute cuisine but nice.
For breakfast we had bagels, Philly and blackcurrant jam. For dinner it will be roast belly pork and lots of crackling, new potatoes and sauerkraut. Followed by homemade rice pudding. My mouth is watering already.
Boeuf bourguignon from my beloved little book, fiches cuisine Elle. Just beef, onions and lardons. No carrots etc.
So did Rosemary, in Rosemary’s baby just before she gave birth to the son of Lucifer. Eat tofu, eat tofu!!
Homemade rice pudding - yuuuum!
