What would you like Andy Burnham to do?
I’d like to see him create something cross-party to deal with health, defence, care — the areas where long-term planning would be helpful.

It seems that many people these days don’t believe in the truth, they just believe anything they read online uncritically.

I’d like to see policies that provide relief to those who are struggling to make ends meet, and at the same time have people who can afford to pay more, pay more. I think that a lot of people who could pay more are quite willing to do so any many of these people are by no neans “rich” . The clamour for the rich to not pay more comes mainly from those who are aggressively avaricious and don’t care at all about other people’s suffering. Such people are in my opinion morally bankrupt.

And content algorithms push content which is similar to that which you already accessed (they are laughably easy to train by the way) so you wind up in a bubble which reinforces a particular world view. It struck me how much anti-Farage content I am seeing the other day and I (very, very, briefly) thought “things are not going well for him”** but then I realised, of course, I am seeing it because I spend more time engaging with it. the Reform supporters doubtless see lots of pro-Farage, anti-Burnham stuff and come to their own conclusion.
**: though algorithm or not I don’t think they are exactly panning out as he hoped with the Clacton by election.

Burnham is in a very fortunate position, with three years left of this parliament he can take his time to put forward policies that will make a difference whilst ensuring he doesn’t make the mistakes that Starmer did along the way.
