My favourite is Truck Fever by Manchan Magan. It was absolutely riveting, I really couldn’t put it down. he tells the story of a trip through Africa the hard way. He waited several years before he felt able to describe this dreadful journey, I was with him every painful mile, sweating in the back of the truck, sleeping in a tent and nearly starving to death…It’s also beautifully written and I think I’ll be looking for more of his travel books in the future.
