What's the difference?

Although we have our front room chimney swept each year, we want to buy a chimney sweeping kit for Stuart’s workshop wood burner.

He’s seen various ones on amazon but we don’t know the difference between the sweeping kits advertised for pellet or wood stoves. Some ads say ‘for wood stoves’ and some say ‘for pellet stoves’ and there are ones that say ‘for pellet and wood stoves’. Yet they all look the same to us!

Can anyone explain what the difference is please. Thanks.

Most pellet stoves have a 80mm diameter combustion flue, so need an accordingly sized brush.

Standard woodburners range from 125mm minimum, but 150mm, 180mm, & 200mm are common.

EDIT; you can also get square & rectangular brushes to use on square & rectangular section flues.

Thank you @Badger - that is a good explanation and helps me with my choice. All the best, Stuart
