Only tried locally (Bergerac area) but no luck.....will bring some back next time if its that difficult... just thought as you can buy Houmous it might be available in the shops...

Don't bother, you can find it in specialized oriental shops or the small supermarkets in cities like Paris. But I buy it online for my halwa. These guys procure it directly from Lebanon. Excellent quality and good service
oh b***er....! ok....I did go there a few weeks ago and noticed it had been taken over...we are off to St Cyp next week...they still have a giant Carrefour...at Perpignan...so will try there...thanks Brian
Not an answer but "Oh no!". Carrefour in Creysse had it but they turned into Intermarché and the rest you can guess.
