Where to honeymoon?

Hi, my partner and I are getting married at the end of August in Lugano, Switzerland. We would like to spend our honeymoon in the South of France.

We are looking for a romantic hotel, B & B or Gite with a pool with restaurants close by. As we live in Haut-rhin we would order not to be too far from the sea.

We love eating out, visiting local markets, wineries etc and hiking.

The dates are from 3rd Sept to 12th.

Any suggestions would be very welcome indeed! Thanks.

I used to go every summer in Menton not far from Nice it’s very beautiful it’s only 15 minutes walk to the Italian border so if you’ve got a car you can go to Italy to a nice restaurant in the evening, how romantic !

If you have a car with you, St Rémy de Provence is lovely - it's not that near the sea, but it's not far either. There's also Arles. Both are lovely towns with lots to see and do (the Cathédrale d'Images near the fabulous Baux de Provence is a wonderful experience). Not sure of any hotels, but I'm pretty sure there's plenty on offer...

Otherwise, if it doesn't have to be France, I'd very much recommend the Cinque Terre region in Italy, around Genoa. The scenery is spectacular, Genoa itself is a lovely city and it's very romantic!

magari...!

Aigues-Mortes is unforgettable and very unlike Haut-Rhin. We ate well there. And the ochre quarries nearby are interesting walking.

Hotel du Lac, Bellagio?

I quite fancy this place though.. http://www.jardinssecrets.net/

I'd suggest Collioure near Perpignan. Lovely seaside village. Mountains in the Background. Perpignan to the North and not too far from Barcelona.

If it was just somewhere French, I'd choose one of these in Marie Galante (been there..it's super) ..... https://www.airbnb.com/s/Marie~Galante--Grande~Terre--Guadeloupe?source=hdr

Hi Andrew,
We know the Côte d’Azur pretty well and are planning to avoid it thus tear, unfortunately, we have to go back up north before leaving for our honeymoon as we have family flying back from basel on the Monday.
Thanks for replying

Sanary-sur-Mer or Aiguebelle for me :-)

Perso, I'd go just down the road to Menaggio or Bellagio if I had enough dosh! South of France (if you mean the Côte d'Azur) I'd go for Menton ;-)
