What I wanted to post was this:
NASA’s Parker Solar Probe completed its 19th close approach to the Sun on March 30, matching its own distance record by coming about 4.51 million miles (7.26 million kilometers) of the solar surface.
The close approach (known as perihelion) occurred at 2:21 UTC - or 10:21 EDT, March 29 - with Parker Solar Probe moving 394,736 miles per hour (635,266 kilometers per hour) around the Sun, again equaling its own record.
so, only 6300 years to reach alpha centauri !

I think the view was that small talk happened in General Discussion anyway so a separate category isn’t needed. Interesting Any Cheerful News Today is in Small talk, so some threads are still open but we can’t create new ones.

I can’t seem to start a new topic anywhere these days, tried and failed the other day and had to tack on to Accidents in the Home, and now impossible to start a new one in the Banking category.

I type in the heading ok but the open panel below for the message is too far out of sight to type in. Can’t scroll down to it or encourage it to accept my message while telling me that I am not allowed to post an empty message.
Can you see a diagonal arrow symbol top right in the post edit screen - like this:
if you click it, it enlarges the edit window to full screen.
Alternatively, you may be able to drag the blue bar at the top of the message window up to make it bigger:
