Dead right. I used to work in Iran years ago, and they absolutely hate America and everything it stands for. The Great Satan they call it. Trump can never win by just bombing the hell out of them. If he puts gyrenes on the ground, they will be totally lost in Iran’s vast country. The Iranian forces consist of more than a million personnel, all fiercely dedicated to killing Yanks! The 100 years war will have nothing on this! I rest my case.

While many find the regime as vile as we do, I think many do not too, and it may well have much more support in the general population than the western press would like us to think.

The Iranians are giving them a bit of a hard time though, 40 F35’s destroyed in their airbase. A big hit on a nuclear storage area that’s supposed to be secret because it doesn’t exist apparently. Well no UN inspections have been allowed in, put it that way.

It’s not a surprise you haven’t. It’s a bit like the US warship that was attacked whilst stationary being refueled, no press conference nothing but it’s reported on various foreign news channels.
Of course these days how do we know what’s real and what isn’t, we are only fed a diet of what they want us to hear.

As far as I have seen, the same information on two different broadcast and that made the 3rd. The only thing I would say is from memory the text seems strikingly similar.
Not sure who blinked first but a possible ceasefire is definitely a relief, Trump’s madness has ensured his status as the worst president ever and hopefully the American public will now wake up and pick someone normal in two years time.

I hope something happens within the two weeks’ ceasefire or we could be going through the same thing again. Some of his own party seem to be waking up to what he is.
I see the ceasefire doesn’t apply to Israel bombing Lebanon though.

Trump blinked and is spinning it as a win. There is almost complete radio silence on X. Nothing accomplished except paying Iran $2 million/ship passage rights. Way to fire. This may be the beginning of the end of MAGA. Hope it is worth it for those of us who are going to feel the effects of it for a long time.

I read the current stance by some of his one time supporters as, we want to replace Trump with Vance, who’s keeping pretty low key at the moment.
Vance may well emerge stronger fromthis. According to a story in the NYT, he was the only bootlicker who was strongly opposed to the war.
No respite for the people of the Lebanon. The Israelis can continue to kill and destroy and nobody says a word.
