People have struggled mightily over the years to get the right to vote, in many different countries and against often huge opposition. I feel strongly that universal suffrage is a mark of civilisation.
Given this forum is a polite group I will not write what I think of those who can’t be bothered to exercise it. Even if one spoils one’s vote it should be made. It is also a mark of respect to those who died to achieve franchise.
Sue, if you have decided which party you wish to vote for, contact their local office in your former constituency and they will pair you with someone to proxy vote for you I have just done this in the Tavistock and West Devon constituency.
I fully agree Bob. At the end of the day it doesnt matter who or what is in power, they will do what they want, how they want and when they want whether i gave them my vote or not.
