Wooden shed / workshop / garage / summerhouse etc in the garden - possibly several

Are there rules covering what and how many wooden structures you can put up in your garden in France? If so what are they please?


In UK I think the rules are that you can have up to 50% of garden "shedded" subject to height restrictions.


I should add that I don't yet have a garden in France but am working on it so this will just be one less thing to think about.


Hope someone can help - thanks in anticipation.

According to our Mairie you can have a construction up to 5 sq m and max height of 2 m without planning permission. There was no mention of how many you can have. The secretary laughed when we asked as there are a lot of garages and summer houses in the village which have been erected … Obviously without proper authority!
