World Cup : The Sequel

Following the complete failure of the last thred to stay on subject, World cup Take Two.

An opportunity for football fans to discuss the upcoming World cup ...

I was going to use the phrase "licking his wounds" but that of course would infer he actually cared. I'm sure that the only reason these over paid oafs pull on an England shirt is to increase their marketability, bank balances & egos.

Extra time though. Mind you Algeria have an impressive record against Germany,

Now, just what was that four in a bed story? Was somebody looking for his tiddly wink or something like that?

No Vic he's got to recover from his strenuous efforts in order to be fit for the start of "the world's greatest football competition". I think it's called the Premiership or some such. When you look at it you do wonder. Time to support "les bleues". I just hope it's his lolly he's licking.

"Tiddlywinks" Now there's a game for real men. I wonder if Mr £ 300,000 per week Rooney is contemplating a change of career whilst licking his lolly in Las Vegas? Interesting how its all gone quiet here ;-)

The glorious Niue national tiddlywinks team raised the cup to show they had won the world championship. Outside the stadium the English team slunk away, heads bowed in shame...

I've just found this thread & thought, as it's gone a bit quiet, I'd retitle it "Following the complete failure of the England team to play football......"

Can't see any other english coaches/managers who may be contenders for the England job. I think we should avoid another foreign manager at all costs.

Hodgson will do ok but geting out of this tough group will be seen as a big victory I feel and any other progression will be a bonus.

Have faith and just hope we don't start with the 'safety first' approach and start with the oldies against Italy...

I can only hope your right and that you have seen a light in Mr H that I am struggling to see...

So what exactly is the point of using anyone that is not in the squad .....is it not a world cup warm up....oh, i wish you hadn't told me....the light is fading even more....

Pretty meaningless to me when the manager plays the second team and also decides to play two players who will not even be going to Brazil ! Saying that I do believe Hodgson is worth persevering with and I hope he will be given a fair chance to develop the new 'golden generation' which is bubbling under.

Not so sure what to think about the 2-2 warm up game with Ecuador (ranked 26th just one place above Scotland compared with Englands ranking of 10). Pride or shame. Its a tough call.

I don't have a problem with Mr Hodgson. Give the man a chance and criticise after we fail to get out of the group...We just need to somehow avoid defeat to Italy to give us a chance.

I can't see him not starting with Rooney, I just hope some of the kids get a start including Barkley with old timers Lampard & Milner etc to come on later. It looks like Lampard will start tho' if his squad number is anything to go by.

Dunno! I'm just a Daily Mail reader. I don't know nuffink about football ;-)

His 'performance' where ?

In bed or on the pitch ?

So how do you think Helen Wood, the 3 in a bed "friend" of Wayne Rooney's appearance on Celebrity Big Brother is going to affect his performance?

And why are we hoping an injured player is fit sorry The ox you should make way for a fit player

And Scholes is right again today with his critisism of Rooney....and how can England achieve anything when the manager 'hopes we might just get past the first stage' - fighting talk.....arrgghh...

Spot on Scholes

Now he is hijacking our thread

God (Hoddle) would be ok with someone like HUghton as assistant

Don't worry, I saw the light and made my life committment to Spurs ( AHHHH!!!)

Vertonghen doesn't want to stay and that's the worst kind of player to have on your books.
