That’s a shame - we’ve got this on our upcoming viewing list - Bill Nighy is one of our favourites. But we’ll give it a go.

Mmmmm , “stealing a living” as an “actor” Don’t you notice he is the same in every role he “plays”?

Maybe he is but we like him whatever role he plays. At least he doesn’t try to put on another accent like an American one, for example, like Pierce Brosnan does - and very badly too!

Love Bill Nighy.

One of his best - early one - Still Crazy.

You don’t have the career and award wins/nominations that he has had without being bloody good.

My daughter took him to her local pub when he was staying at the hotel where she was receptionist and he got so drunk he had to be helped back into her car and upto his room but she said he was a very nice and friendly man.

Finished latest series of Trigger Point last night. Easy watching and enjoyable enough provided you can suspend your disbelief over some parts.

Have got Trespasses to watch next, I think.

We are currently watching Trespasses, last one tonight. We have Trigger Point recorded to binge watch some rainy day

We’ve got Trigger Point and Trespasses to watch soon (after Slow Horses and Down Cemetry Road). I noticed that Trespasses stars Tom Cullen. I thought he was brilliant in The Gold as John Palmer.

There’s quite a lot of good stuff around at the moment- I think we’re spoilt for choice really.

Change of plan… Watching The Hack instead.

:+1: for that.

Also starring Billy Connolly.

Trigger Point has been renewed for another series, not sure whether that’s a good or bad thing.

I’ve just finished The Offer on ITV X which is about how The Godfather was made, a good insight into how Hollywood works and the punts film companies take on scripts and books.

We enjoyed watching Coldwater on ITV and The Guest BBC

We watched The Lost Bus last night. Based on the 2018 fires in California, it was quite frightening to watch and see how quickly fires can spread. The only downside about this was the cinematography left a lot to be desired - in parts it was so bad we felt really dizzy but fortunately it only occurs in parts of the film.

1917, a WW1 movie on BBC iPLAYER.

I was carried along by the film from beginning to end. Best described in the Guardian.

Technically brilliant, and strong cinematography, but I found it unbearably schmaltzy and pretty shallow. Oh look, mother with hungry baby. Oh look, a dairy cow in the middle of a battlefield.
I don’t like war films in general and this didn’t change my opinion.

I agree, but the film portrayed for me the horror that WW1 soldiers went through. We’ve seen the lines of soldiers blinded by mustard gas in old news footage. And the madness of ordering thousands of soldiers to run blindly into enemy fire. I don’t like war films either but they’ll always be made.

“Play Dirty” is a good one, I recommand

I’m having a problem with these series on BBC iPlayer & ITV X. After the first episode I’m hooked and want to see how it ends, but that is another 5 episodes away. Can’t space them out because I’m not disciplined enough. Once started I want to see it out to the end, but sitting for 6 hours isn’t good for lower leg circulation, as we are told. So, I’ve got my dusty under-desk pedal-machine out again and happily churn away while watching to solve that problem.

Not sure if I can discipline myself enough to do what is sensible - watch 1, maybe 2 episodes per evening. The latest culprit is Coldwater. Looks like I’m going to develop super strong legs!
