Merino pants? Not sure, might be a bit funny.

Hi Anna, welcome to the forum.

Sorry but your post does read a bit like an ad - have you got the top+pants yourself.

Also, warm as I am sure it is, it’s not exactly cheap.

@SuePJ When we were looking for clothes for a wedding just before Christmas, we came across a shoe shop in our little local town and discovered that it had the most fantastic range of shoes, including Riekers. Unfortunately they ( Souliers & Compagnie) only seem to have shops in Manche and one in Brittany so no good to you but perhaps there’s an equivalent near you?

I like Rieker too and I see they sell online, although that means the pain of doing returns, obvs. I haven’t found it yet but I would have thought their website should tell you about local stockists.

Edit: Their chatbot/person sent me to this page. I typed in our postcode and France, then the distance I would accept and found three shops near us.

Delighted to say I’m leaving for Chichester in an hour and I’ve found a shop in Worthing (45 mins) and another in Brighton (1 hour), so I will definitely be doing some exploring. I love the idea of the thick soles. I’m doing a lot of pavement pounding in Chichester and the soles of my feet are getting sore.

I’ll let you know how I get on.

Thanks for the link Jennifer, found several stores here in France, a mere spitting distance away.

FWIW I take a size 9 in men’s shoes and have always found Rieker sizing to be accurate.

Indeed. But with something like ladies sandals it could be that the style doesn’t look right on your feet or they aren’t comfortable.

Fair enough - I have male feet which are easily pleased.

When I looked, Rieker shoes all seemed to have a zip on them, for no reason I could discern (which would include fashion).

What’s so good about them, @ChrisMann ? I had to stop wearing DMs, and moved to Ecco, but they’re not cheap.

Not mine, mine are slip-ons.

They are well made, and comfortable once worn in - I find they last longer than (say) M&S shoes, which i used to buy. But with all shoes eventually driving kills them, the rubber sole splits.

These are similar to the ones I bought last:
