That reminds me of when, according to my late mother, my stepfather in the earlyish stages of dementia tried to phone a taxi to take him for his lunchtime pint(!) at the local ex-service man’s club. He punched lots of buttons on the TV remote then threw it away - “Bloody phone’s not working!”
