There are various stories online, with quite a dramatic headline by the Sun, plus reports of a break-in and that three people have been arrested.
There’s a press conference at 4.30pm UK time by Devon police.

All a bit unexpected, I thought she’d died naturally.
That was certainly the story all the Press put out.
I suppose they did not know until the police presence made it obvious that something was amiss.
And great for the police to crack on with their investigation in peace!
Maybe the police were biding their time before announcing anything.
They say they are looking for a white male, but that’s all so far.
Listening to radio. Devon Police have opened a murder enquiry
I sincerely hope her ‘party’ don’t use her suspicions death to make political gains.
I, for one, am glad that I kept my mouth shut for a change.
My first thought was how sad that an elderly woman, presumably living on her own, had been attacked and killed. It must have been a frightening end.
Indeed. Whether you agreed with her politics or not, nobody deserves what happened to her.
She was on a tv, celebrity auction program a little while ago and I’m sure she did live on her own.
Burglary gone wrong?
Wouldn’t be surprised, they repeated the prog in the last couple of weeks or so.
The murderer might be a nutter or someone psychotic with hate but if the elderly lady was killed because she was in politics it is a terrible threat to our democratic society. This violence against a serving politician is not the first but I sincerely hope the last.
Police have said they’ve arrested a white, British male. They also said there’s no suggestion it was politically motivated nor is it being linked to terrorism.
I disliked the woman so I won’t shed a tear over her demise but even she didn’t deserve to be killed.
I suppose plod needed to say that so that Nige and the boys don’t start mouthing off and trying to cause anti-whoever demos or even riots. They seem to have been quite quiet, actually.
No matter what you may think of her political opinions, nobody deserves to be murdered - especially an eldery woman living alone.
I think you and others are reading the situation incorrectly.
She was a Catholic, as is Rees Mogg, who was on R4 earlier. It would make no sense to start making wild accusations, even if Farage were so tempted. Catholics understand the dignity of death, and they have a hope in what follows.
I was thinking more of how Farage behaved after the Southport murders or the situation in Belfast earlier this year. He’s not above stirring things up.
Yes, I get it.
My prediction is he won’t say nuffink, because that would give people the opportunity to point out how he (and others, all sides) have said things that debase the debate.
