Any cheerful news today? (Nothing negative please! 🙂) (Part 2)

Ah but it doesn’t take out the odd window like strimming does :joy:

A bladed strimmer once broke my car windscreen. High velocity stone.

I’d not heard of it until now, but having Googled it I think I must try some very soon

I encourage you to do so, and if you’re curious (and still hungry), here’s something to read

We obviously get just enough of that :+1: those sheep are really thriving :+1: :+1:

My arteries are apparently in good condition. I’d like to keep them that way :joy:

Really cheerful news! No-one in our commune has died since before Christmas :+1:

My heart sank when my phone rang and I saw it was the Funeral head-honcho

I said a gentle bonjour, followed by “who’s died?”
 but.. hurrah
not phoned to say someone has died
 blah blah

phoned to say Happy New Year :+1: phew

So are mine, thanks to the delightful pills I take every morning!

I generally get a blood pressure reading of “normal” nowadays (used to be “high normal” or occasionally “isolated hypertension”) - but I was very pleased to get a reading of “optimal” the other day on my Omron gizmo!

Must be the benefits of eating bacon sandwiches

The bacon yes, the bread, questionable. Simple trick for lowering blood pressure and producing nitros oxide is humming around 100hz.using mouth wash is bad for blood pressure.

Not my wholemeal multigrain. That is unimpeachable. Although if you lived on it exclusively you might get a bit bunged up.

I’ve a good/tasty recipe involving prunes
 cleans right round the bend

and it contains alcohol (that’s the cheerful bit!)

That sounds very healthy! My Mum used to give us Senokot
horrible stuff - IIRC it was in the form of crunchy granules.

I see you can still get it but now in tablet form:

Yuk.. sennapods I think the stuff was called when I was little. I never needed it (that cheerful news) but my sister used to yelp and grimace when mum gave her a spoonful

Anyway, let’s stick to the really cheerful news
 the rain has stopped
and lunchtime isn’t far away

The result of too much insoluble fibre!

I’m so VERY pleased about this. It should reduce worries for both of you. Well done Monsieur le Maire!

Local maires, if any good, can make a big difference to life. We had ours supporting us actively with the prefecture in our bid for naturalisation. Lost cause of course now (thank you M. Retailleau) but we do have other options we are trying.

Our 18 year old nephew was recently given a record player and vinyl records for his birthday. After a day or two of playing them, he asked his Dad why there seemed to be far fewer tracks on the records than were displayed on the sleeve.

Highly amused, his Dad showed him that if he turned over the record, there was
a B side, containing the rest of the tracks. I guess it shows you should never assume prior knowledge!

Love it, George.

We have a fairly old Tom Petty CD where he stops part-way through so that people playing it on vinyl can catch up.
