We did, and of course we are worried that it may not continue like that but it’s entirely up to the new team now…
Now the new team will discover just how hard you both worked getting the whole thing up and running.
It’s certainly time for you and OH to relax and enjoy… ![]()
I most definitely hope so ![]()
Well done you. And if they are anything like the French group that has entirely taken over the photo club I belonged to and helped run, they will drive you crackers, but they will do it their way and it will thrive. ![]()
After about 3 days of work, on and off, I’ve finally finished the form to seek Grant of Confirmation (Scottish equivalent of probate) so here’s hoping that it’s all ok and approved.
For context, we did engage a solicitor to do it but she’s done absolutely nothing since September so we dispensed with her services and I’m doing it now.
Well done @JohnH ! Fingers crossed…
Woke up to message from daughter asking if I had got her birthday gift delivered by FedEx OK. Found a box bottle shaped in post box ten mins ago and inside a jar of my favourite Moonshine from Gatlingberg in the Smokies. Won’t be sharing that around!

So is it happy birthday to you Shiba?
A bit late but it was on Tuesday. Went to the local Japanese buffet resto on weds with the family where the little dishes of sushi style stuff go round on a conveyor belt and you help yourself plus self cook and. a hot and cold buffet plus deserts. I had to be careful with the sushi as am deadly allergic to any sort if tuna. Not bad for €17/adult at lunchtime and less for the little ones who decided to become waiters and go round and collect al the plates and covers from the belt, bless them!
Oh frabjous day! I finally have the. Internet in Chichester! So I am typing this on my I-iPad using 2, sometimes 3 fingers, as opposed to the feeble attempt to type anything on my phone and no signal after I’ve typed. At last I can have a good browse through SF, as I wait for John Lewis and the Cotswold company to deliver.
That sound like great progress. The house should see some good changes by the end of today.
An exciting day, I like getting new things from time to time, my latest new was a mattress on Friday and more than happy to wave bye bye to my old Tempur one, which I’ve hated ever since I got it ![]()
I hope you bought in the sale.
We looked at the Cotswold Company once, v expensive for what they were.
Callooh! Callay !
I’m chortling with joy ![]()
I’m in quite a cheerful mood today as Renault have definitively written off 4 years worth of rent for my Zoe EV battery (that they could have, but didn’t get round to billing). They’ve also sold it to us for only 55% of its actual value. End of a 4 year saga, and removal of a cloud of uncertainty. Our insurers, Pacifica, were not remotely interested (in increasing our premiums), when I told them we now owned the battery (but thought it sensible to tell them, in case they used it as an argument to refuse future claims).
This poem made me feel weirdly cheerful.
My wife was making uncharacteristic curses under her breath this morning when she saw that tomorrow, Shrove Tuesday was a Tempo Red day. She rates pancakes as being the true Food of the Gods. So we’ve had our full quota of pancakes today, a Blue Tempo day, instead.
We enjoy pancakes too. And not only on Shrove Tuesday.
In fact, we call them ‘Shrove Tuesdays’ and have them every couple of months or so as a main meal. I make Stuarts with sultanas mixed in the batter and he then has fresh orange juice poured over them. I have mine the usual way, with lemon juice and a sprinkling of sugar. We sometimes have three though usually it’s only two - it depends on how hungry we are.
And we’ll definitely be having them tomorrow.
Good news at last. I saw the surgeon for a follow up appointment about my arm this afternoon. You might remember that last time the plate hadn’t held and I had to have another operation.
But today he was happy and said my x-ray was ‘nickel’ and the pin is doing its work. I’m so relieved because I went in half-expecting the worst again.
Now we can start moving forward.
