A fair point. Weāll probably have a friend do a few. It may not surprise you to know that after shooting hundreds of weddings I am not all that fussed about having millions of photos of my own.
Itās going to be a very small affair in any case, most likely Bodmin Register Office and then the Old Inn at St Breward for the reception.
Similar story to that of my little brother.
Met a lovely lady whilst in his 20āsā¦true love or not, their lives took different paths.
Fast forward 30+ years ⦠they met again and both decided not to waste any more time thinking about it ā¦
Super, super news Chris. congratulations to both of you.
If I remember correctly, Di found you via the internet - sometimes social media is for the good. And well done Di.
So do I! we were going to come to France this month, but had to change our plans as the dogsitter was not able to take Diās minature schnauzer, Luna, for the period we wanted.
Madame has set her heart on a cruise for our honeymoon, so we will most likely be sailing past France on our way to Spain and back!
But we have agreed that we want to take a trip to France as soon as we can (I need to get her hooked )
A bit like Fran and I then, met first in about 1964, kissed and felt the electricity immediately, but she was unavailable so I crossed continents for several years, came back and made a new life in England, then one day, we met quite by chance, and fell into each othersā arms immediately. The rest most of you already know.
Now she and I both look out from the large framed picture of our 1980 wedding which sits on the cheminee to the left of the tube. On the other side of it is another framed photo, this one of our best friend Christine, who glances back to me with a wicked grin in sunglasses and standing by her sports car. It was her glamour on arriving from England and taking up with Franās favourite local rock star that started the wonderful 10 years or so for the 4 of us.
My brother and his Love were finally together and it was wonderful to see them both so very happy.
Sadly, the lovely lady got a nasty cancer which parted them much too soon.
He never really got over thatā¦
He died in 2018, still mourning his lost Love and wishing things had been different.
And the message we all took away from their story is that one must seize the moment and seriously consider whether all the reasons for Not doing something.. really hold water.
But.. the Cheerful News is that they DID, indeed, share those (delayed) wonderful few years together! Hurrrah
Good/cheerful news for me today and especially for my car, an 18-year-old clapped out, but not too clapped out, Renault Clio 111 diesel at 222,366 kilometres. She passed her ContrĆ“le Technique exam this morning, and deserves my pseudonym for her - āOld Faithfulā.
Nothing to boast about, but not bad for a common production car, regularly serviced throughout her life. Her only mishaps have been a split fuel line, a leaky screen wash feed pipe and a faulty fuse board in the engine bay, though this and the fuel line caused a great deal of bother being stranded both times ā however ā she is forgiven.
My Peugeot Partner has just gone over 180,000 km and still going strong. Itās only mishap was a broken timing belt leading to complete engine destruction ⦠after only 4 weeks. Brand new engine fitted in double quick time and all has been well since then.
On the āreasonably good car newsā front, I took my mother to look at a care home yesterday and when we came out my car wouldnāt start. Fortunately my brother Simon was also on the visit so took my Mum to his house which is nearby in Woking.
I sat and waited for Green Flag breakdown for an hour and a half in the care homeās air con and the care home folks couldnāt have been nicer - i was repeatedly asked if I wanted anything, and was provided with cake and coffee.
When the breakdown guy arrived he diagnosed it immediately as a dodgy battery, jump-started it in one, and told me to go direct to Halfords to get a new battery (£118 fitted), instead of following his company orders which were to flog me a new one for £180!
He also cheered me up a bit by saying that in his experience Hondas are one of the most reliable brands - when he has a call out to a Honda itās almost always just a dead battery or a punctured tyre.
I got shot of my Partner Tepee because of constant Adblue problems. In the last 3 years, I have spent a fortune getting this menace fixed! I have now gone back to a petrol hybrid. Well happy with it. Diesel cars are now a pariah, as they have become the latest Governmentsā anti-motorist target.
