Any cheerful news today? (Nothing negative please! ๐Ÿ™‚) (Part 2)

Thanks Billy, yes its good news thats its only in situ. With all the bone scans etc I was getting concerned but they were just being very cautious which is reassuring. Hopefully surgery in 3-4 weeks as a day patient.

Very best wishes to you both - stressful times.

Thanks Sue, major stress over with todays good news. When the hospital kept moving the appointment closer and closer with a surprised call to come in today my mind was racing. Big sigh of relief this evening.

Will do, if all goes well date wise we will be out in France on the June dates we booked so recuperation in a great relaxing place, surgery obviously is the most important bit so trip date could always be pushed back. So grateful its not spread anywhere else.

Heard our first cuckoo of the year today - later than the past couple of years but itโ€™s always a good sign that spring is well and truly here.

And weโ€™re expecting delivery of two more โ€˜chocolate vinesโ€™ (akebia quinata) for our new pergolas we put up at the back of the house. The one we have at the front of the house is absolutely full of flowers at the moment. They are so called because they smell of chocolate. I think they smell more like vanilla.

Apparently, if they (the white one in photo 1 and the purple one in photo 2) are grown together they cross polinate and produce sausage shaped fruits shown in photo 3.

If you have an A. quinata, rather than A.pentaphylla the fruit is edible. We havenโ€™t had any fruit here as are growing in a big pot, but we used to get fruit in last house.

The plants are now sited in the ground and I confirm they are A.quinata. They are in superb condition and were bomb-proof packaged. Would certainly buy from these people again (Pepinieres Quissac
Jardin Ecologique SAS).

Not so much cheerful news as a proclamation of idiocy.

I forgot to pack my sporran this morning.
