What can you make from them?

For people with time on their hands
I see your point
Having now come to terms with the loss of our canine pal Alfie 2 weeks ago, today we have a new family member with the arrival of 2 month old little boy cocker spaniel we have called Barney.
We held out 2 months - but congrats on new addition.
You needed these people.
My tiny cheerful news - having had a tedious cough/cold for a fortnight I’ve been feeling very run down in the last few days and wanting to sleep in the daytime.
So this morning at 0830 I decided to message the local surgery to see if I could at least get a phone consultation with a doctor - usually that’s the best you get from them.
Lo and behold the surgery phoned me back within 10 minutes and I have a face to face appointment with an actual doctor (or maybe a nurse, we’ll see) at 0945 today!
So there is life in the NHS (Sud-Angleterre division) after all!
Either that or they are running short of sick people due to the sunny weather.
Having now seen El Quackeroon (not sure why I call him that as he’s from Finland), he has prescribed me an antibiotic so hopefully that will deal with my Alien Infestation.
Hope it does but anti biotics dont usually help with viral infections. If you had a chest infection etc might work but hope you feel better soon.
Yes it’s in my chest… anyway the Pharmaceutical Finn knows what he’s doing I assume .
My 2-year old granddaughter had her op this morning to clip a major blood vessel shut near to her heart to stop any bacteria etc being sucked in and then into her heart. She did well and is now back in the room with mum and dad but has to keep still, nigh on impossible at that age. Unfortunately the blood test taken yesterday showed she is A- ARE (or similar) which means when she is an adult and wants to get pregnant, her body could attack a foetus and destroy it and so the father would need to get tested to see if he is compatible. More worry but that is in the future when progress in medicine should have advanced and find something to help her. At least they found out now so that is something they will know about and whether to take risks etc. My son said the parent’s accomodation at the Toulouse hospital for €10/night with equiped kitchen to use was better than the Ibis they stayed in a few weeks ago in Albi.
I have that blood group with associated problems (turns out my mother did too, although, while growing up, I never knew why she was so ill with every pregnancy…)
So good luck to your grand daughter… at least she knows in advance.
Yes. Its strange how blood groups develop as neither of the parents are that group. Mum and I had/have the same but unfortunately no idea about any other family members. Hopefully in the future a drug or something can be developed to help people with all these blood problems.
Well, it’s trivial compared to others’ good news, but today I planted two figuiers. One Goutte d’Or, marked as suitable for debutants, one Brown Turkey not so marked.
We’ll see how they go. If both survive, I’ll be very pleased.
Go figger,
Although we generally think of people having one of 4 types pf blood - A, B, AO and O - either rhesus positive or negative, there are actually more than 45 variations. So the mix of parent A and parent B can create all sorts of combinations in the baby. And then a reaction between baby and mother which can cause extra complications. But they are the same throughout life unless one has received bone marrow transplants of transfusions.
I think you may find that remark has more than one meaning,
Hope you have a run of good luck (consuming figs)
I call one Syrul and one Trotsky.
