Any cheerful news today? (Nothing negative please! 🙂) (Part 2)

Getting back on-topic - Cheerful News

It’s been freezing cold today, with a little sleet in the north wind… brrrr
and (thankfully) it seems my walking buddie is of the same mindset as I am… NO we are not walking this evening… instead we are sitting beside a cheerfully blazing fire and swapping our family news… about her lot in Paris and my lot in UK :+1:

Nonesense the women new their place in those days:roll_eyes::roll_eyes::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

I have a feeling that you may not be around SF very long…

Nominative determinism at it’s best.

I think it is called humour.

Its called humour Shiba , we have all moved on from those days that was 60 + years ago .

@JohnH, Curious statement.

I was only a small child so don’t really remember those times.

I still enjoy the Pythons, but some aspects have held up much better than others. OTOH I watched of few episodes of It Ain’t Half Ot Mum last year and found my toes curling. I’m far from being a snowflake, but some things are best enjoyed inside ones own head.

Thanks for that

I don’t recall seeing F1 mentioned here before so I thought I was safe.

I lost interest in F1 many years ago for a variety of reasons, but must admit to being pleased, if I am right, that it marks the return to winning ways for McClaren. :grinning:

McLaren got back to their winning ways half way through last season, unfortunately just a little too late for the championship. This (should be) their year.

Thank you, I thought I was behind the curve, but not by that much. :grinning:

I could mention the rugby too…

why not… it’s a great result… we shall enjoy celebrating with our neighbours… hic

I was there for that, that’s why I wasn’t up in time for the GP. I was hoping to download it for watching on the train back home.

Many aspects of life were very different back in what some like to call the good old days, it would be true they were simpler, but women unless they came from wealthy families had very little say, fortunately we have progressed.

I was troubled last night, while I was forlornly hoping for a Scottish victory, it would have given England the tournament and we can’t be having that
