Bardella with Nigel…

Well, that has really nailed Nigels colour to the mast, if we didn’t already know it, French RN (previously known as the National Front) leader Jordan Bardella is to address the Reform party conference. It’s not the first invité to the UK from our Nige, he came over last December.

Interesting to note that the French NF party under the Le Penn family promised a Frexit vote to the French people in the évent of présidentiel victory but nowadays, no doubt having seen the disaster which is Brexit, the French NF is now proposing a ‘renogogiation’ of membership terms.

Would you feel the same if Mélenchon was going to speak at a Labour Party conference?

Great question, I would be less surprised.

Personally, I’d be more surprised if he did.

Mélenchon probably feels UK Labour are filthy class traitors and centrist corporate lackeys.

And that’s before you mention them being Friends of Israel.

Maybe but I could have understood a link between Melenchon and the loony lefties of the 70s and 80s.

Well he has got a point  They certainly haven’t had any interest in the “working class” since Blair. And, I would add “genocidal and ethnic cleansing” into the middle of Friends of Israel moniker.

Don’t worry. I doubt that RN will be able to win the French presidential election in the first round, and therefore all the non-RN voters will go to the second round polls with a clothes peg on their nose and vote for whoever ends up opposing the RN candidate.

But what would happen if the choice was LFI v RN?

:scream::scream::scream::scream::scream::scream: awful and a terrible possibility

Is there an alternative if the country doesn’t want someone of Macron’s nature?

Yes of course.

Which flavour would you prefer ?

One that’s neither mad righty nor mad lefty.

I still don’t understand how MLP can stand for the presidentials, hardly an example of honesty

She’s not.

Sounds like Macron then.

Check out Raphael Glucksman, a centre left Euro politician who talks a lot of sense (imo). He is a candidate but with only about 12% of the vote so unlikely to make the run-off.

Sorry, she is !

You had me worried there that I had misheard on the news recently. Still don’t think its right, a leader should be squeaky clean where honesty is concerned, otherwise its hardly an example to the populace

I thought Macron couldn’t run again?

He can’t, at least not for so many years between previous office.

Von Der Leyen isn’t setting a high bar, is she?
