Bloody hell!

Gosh… can’t be much fun… do you intend to stay there in the hotel or will you cut your visit short and go home… ???

We don’t have much choice at the moment. We rented a house in Normandy starting April 1, and had hoped to be moving into our new house early summer, but (long story) the seller changed her mind and took it off the market! So we were about to start house hunting round 2 when this craziness started. So… here we are!

And soyez les bienvenues ! Sorry if I confirmed your legitimate suspicions of bilious Brits, but it’s just a rumour, we are very warm, generous, broad-minded and cosmopolitan people, and consummate hypocrites too.:hugs:

You have encountered us at a difficult time, and stiff upper lips are the order of the day, stereotyping foreigners is a defensive reflex when the natives get restless.

Stick with us, we need cheerful and interesting allies in a crisis, especially dollar-carrying ones!

Happy home hunting and respectez la distance !:clipperton_island::heavy_dollar_sign::dollar::us_outlying_islands::uk:

PS Lots of very thoughtful, highly experienced, helpful and hugely interesting people on SF, @Mantragirl, don’t take my word for it, just browse, you’ll see for yourself. SF is the tops.

Oh gosh… so you are really in a bit of a pickle at the moment.

the good news is that you are here, in France…and things will get sorted out eventually.

Keep smiling …

(can you extend the rental contract until such time as you do manage to buy something???)

Anything is a possibility at the moment! Of course we see AWESOME home prospects every day on the various RE sites that we would just love to visit in person, but nooooooo!

Ok well that’s cool. Americans are annoying anyhow.

Let’s all be friends
