Is it just a case of what the majority in Catalonia choose or would it need to go to a national Spanish vote? The current political trials in Spain will no doubt push this back under the spotlight.
Without a powerful sponsor it looks unlikely that we will see any kind of peaceful independence. Is there any sympathy for the catalans in south west France given the cultural bleed across the border?
