Chronopost can't find my address...!

PS I’d wait a working day or two, having contacted Chronopost, in case it turns up. You’ve called them and checked the line by line tracking online, I presume?

Thanks for your responses. I will definitely update with the outcome.

Absolutely, as in fact it was this tracking that showed they’d “delivered” it.

We’ll let Greenweez, the supplier, deal for now with Chronopost since it’s they who have the direct contract and presumably have the necessary (contractual) methods for dispute resolution.

I’m with @KarenLot on this re the signature. The common practice these days is to scratch your fingernail on a blank screen, I don’t know why they bother.

If delivery drivers say they’ve left the parcel somewhere on the property, they should have to take a photo of the house/gates/postbox/ something recognisable …
You’d be able to prove it was the wrong address by taking a photo of your own.

If it works in other countries, why not introduce it here?

The opposite to this is that I sometimes get text messages saying the parcel was too big to put in the box and that I should indicate to the following link whether I want to collect from somewhere or have a redelivery.

This only happens when I am not expecting a parcel so I simply delete the message thinking that it is some sort of a con to get a reply out of me. They obviously think I have a smartphone that I can click on the link, happily I don’t so not possible, but I wonder how many people fall for it and what is the result.

The scam parcel delivery messages usually tell you that a fee has to be paid in order to release or redeliver the “parcel”.

No idea how many are taken in, but I guess if you are expecting a delivery it’s possible to be deceived.

Yes, that is what I thought, of course I am protected from such scams as I can’t immediately follow the link, I have to go home and do it on the computer so would have time to think before I did so. :joy:

Brief update, following Chronopost’s claim they’d delivered a large 15kg order of rolled oats 3 days ago, on behalf of a supplier, Greenweez.

The latter immediately accepted our handwritten (why?!) attestation sur l’honneur and passport copy, and emailed us to say our order would be promptly reinstated. It was re-delivered by Chronopost this morning. A full signing ceremony to confirm delivery took place, to the satisfaction of all concerned…

I hope the Maire and the Sapeurs-Pompiers band were in attendance…
