A high mortality rate is bad for a virus though as the virus host dies and limits the ability to spread.
Well Ebola doesn’t seem to care…
Bars ordered to close. I don’t drink, or haunt bars but I am devastated for my friends and their business.
Mass is still on but with restrictions. I feel I want to go at a the like this.
I agree, and I’m thinking of saving what I shan’t spend and distributing it free amongst the businesses (not supermarkets) I might otherwise have frequented.
Presumably, bakeries are going to be spared, but one fears for those who serve, and for supermarket checkout staff. They are obviously at high-risk of infection. I mentioned her pluck to one at her counter this evening, having to serve a stream of sniffling old types like moi. With a laugh, she said she had passed the point of worrying about it.
Our trip over at Easter is looking more and more doubtful.
Mass here in my area… is cancelled… got the news late last night…
elections today… hoping for a good turnout…
It does make sense to cancel Mass a congregation of those most in danger right now is madness.
You’ve got to ask why the elections are still on when the elderly in particular are being told to stay at home, turnout is likely to be very low.
Haven’t read been able to find anything in the new restrictions about whether or not local outdoor marchés will continue. Or will their popularity mean people will be forced into going inside supermarkets?
Virtually all our food, bar oranges, is produced locally ( junction of Aveyron, Cantal and Lot) so the emergency plan is to get everything direct from local farms and growers.
I’m disappointed at the lack of clarity from the government with regard to what businesses/facilities can stay open, maybe we’ll learn more tomorrow.
Essential businesses…so if I have a broken tap/pipe whatever, going to a local brico shed is fairly essential. Maybe non essential business just means shoe shops:joy:
No one over 70 is allowed, so if you are 69.75 you are doomed
I bet the chasse are allowed to continue
but only on the grounds they shoot 10% of their number to reduce the effect of Covid-19
Hey, they’re on target already aren’t they? Where do I sign up?
VOTING
10.45am:
So far the turnout has been quiet and sedate… people of all ages… with everyone following the health guidelines for safe voting …
Only 3 people have forgotten to bring their pens…
Mass is cancelled. I am evangelical for the day. LOUD worship music on YouTube. No choice but to get some writing done.
Not sure what this is about… the over 70’s ??? can’t do what ???
