Crit’Air question

I know this has previous discussions but it might be simpler if I post my question on a new topic.
What is my car’s serial number?
Engine? Chassis? Something else?

Thanks.

Immatriculation number…
And ‘commercial description’ means model name :upside_down_face:

If @_Brian’s answer still has you puzzled - registration plate

I am puzzled because there is a box marked “Registration number”.
Doesn’t “Serial number” refer to something else?

Have you got translation turned on?

Might be the VIN

Not sure what you are asking. Regarding the car, only two questions are asked - the immatriculation numbet and date when the car was first put on the road.

Certainly I was not asked for a serial number.

I’m failing to show you a photo of the form I have to fill in so in words

1 Registration
2 Date of registration
3 Vehicle Category
4Fuel/power source
5 Serial number
6 Make
7 Commercial description
8 Euro Standard
9 CO2

Phew!

Try using the French language version of the site. The English version seems to be generated by Google Translate v0.1

I have a feeling you are not looking at the right form. All crit’air asks for is plate number and date of first registration.

What is the site address?

It should be this one

OK, so you are using the form for a foreign registered car. Are you non resident in France and wanting to bring your car in temporarily?

Ah, this could be the eureka moment. It is an English registered vehicle coming to France. I made a rather large assumption didn’t I? That you would all know who I am!
I’m using the Critair site English version.

I still do not have a clue who you are! Should I?

You are not resident in France and bringing the car in for a visit, yes?

Then use the form you are using. Most questions are straight forward. Note though that the second should be date of first registration. Serial number is the VIN.

No, you shouldn’t know who I am. I have made a few posts where it is clear I am in the UK but I can’t expect to be remembered!
You have answered my question now about the serial number.

Thank you to all who persevered with my dimness.

That’s the problem with people not having recognisable names, but random words. If you posted as Omar Shariff I would probably remember that he’s moved back to UK. Sadly plod doesn’t spark same memory reflex.

(Thinking about it, weren’t you someone before you became plod?)

I think he’s been dead a decade so presumably he moved back to the uk in his urn?

But hey, would be memorable! Posts from a deceased bridge player.

I apologise for thread-drift…
Omar Shariff… aka… Dr Zhivago… oooooh… my heart is all a flutter…

Nah… had a full checkup recently… all is well.
I reckon I’d have to be dead to have no reaction to thoughts of Omar and his lovely, lovely eyes… and that smile…
oh my… off for a cold shower…
