Crit’Air question

By some oversight and using different computers I did once manage to post as somebody else, but I can’t remember the moniker. I am now only
“plod”.

Immatriculation= number plate. Cameras enforcing the zones can’t see your VIN (engine serial number).

VIN number?

I’m afraid I am guilty of RAS syndrome.

No way.
Don’t like men sporting moustaches.

I had to look that up. Thanks for posting.

Merely a gentle tease.

Pretty snarky actually, but carry on.

I guess I’m fairly easy going… as OH didn’t “sport” a moustache when I fell in love with him…
but it seems like we’ve shared several lifetimes … during which his hairstyle and facial hair have changed according to the fashions and his own quirky ideas…

I still love him though (just as well…  )

Even wearing the pressure cooker?

Yes, we used to call it the chassis number back in the dark ages,.

funnily enough, that domestic item did come into the conversation last night… but nothing to do with cooking or selfdefence etc… in fact… can’t recall now what we were talking about … but he mentioned the PCooker and I just collapsed laughing (and had to explain how I’d spilled the beans on the forum… )

Btw. I went through the application process last month for a UK car. The sticker arrived here in Bristol about a week, I think.

I’ve stuck mine driver’s side, as far into the lower corner as I can. That’s a little contentious with the MOT rules, so I’ll see what the inspector says next week when the car’s tested.

That’s where ours is and we had no problem with the mot last week.

Wasn’t intended to be, I’ll delete it.

From the MoT Test Manual

The following are only considered a defect if they seriously restrict the driver’s view:

official’ stickers, such as parking and disabled permits

significantly affecting the driver’s view of the road through the swept area of the windscreen

Bottom right hand corner of the windscreen for Crit’Air sticker will not cause problems. I have had several cars MoT’d over the years with Crit’Air and German Umweltplakette stickers in that location

Good to know!

Yes, I’m banking on those guidelines, but you never quite know if everyone’s up on it. I’ve heard tell of an overzealous inspector not only failing someone, but removing the sticker. Good to know you’ve had no problems!

The solution is to not actually apply the sticker until you’re about to travel to France - after the UK MOT…
