I suppose so, but then I’ve been to France twice since I got it. Before the MOT!
Well, I have tried and failed. I seem to get stuck on the photo of my registration document which appears to suggest that it is too “big”. My son says he has reduced it but to no avail. Any helpful advice?
Convert it to a .pdf file with compression set to high…
Hi Brian. Went through the MOT with it in place. Not an issue for my bloke, luckily.
You might just as well have asked me to split the atom, but fortunately my son has done it.
Do you have to purchase and display a Crit Air badge in your vehicle?
I live in rural France and do not intend to drive in Crit Air controlled zones.
So I ask is it compulsory or not?
In a word, no.
EDIT: For the minimal cost you may as well, just in case. You’ll also be ready if the scheme effects places that you DO travel to.
No, its not compulsory . Just means you can’t drive in any town where one is needed. For the sake if a few euros…
And it goes with the car so is there for lifetime of car. All for €4 or so. Not many things are such a bargain!
As others have said… NO it is not compulsory.
Take a look at Questions section of the link I’ve put here which opens in English at the relevant page (the main link is also higher up…)
(During times of exceptionally “bad air” conditions, an emergency decision to impose restrictions … can be made by absolutely any Prefecture… so keep an eye on the News if your car does not have the “disc”. and air conditions are foul… )
As someone remarked earlier, for the sake of about 4€ you may as well get one just in case…
I got one just in case a temporary zone popped up. It seemed like a good use of 4 euros.
Just remember to display it inside the exhaust pipe on Tuesdays and upside-down in the centre of the rear window on Sunday afternoons.
Noted! I’ve taken the annual reversing only day rule on board as well…
Hooray! It’s another Crit’Air sticker thread!!
