After much deliberation I have now sold my petrol guzzling tractor mower and gone electric, takes a little longer but very satisfying knowing that I am doing my bit.
Clothes with plastic fibres - washing in a delicate wash would seem seem the best way, but researchers found that these washes use a lot of water and fibres are more readily lost.
Oh dear…a meme to please the naysayers.
At least that mower can be run from sustainable resources, unlike a petrol version.
Would like to know more on this, we have an A+ I believe washing machine not that it would make much difference I am sure.
A machine that can take hot water from a solar generated system rather than using electricity to heat it would be of interest
I have just found out about a way I can reduce my carbon footprint by a simple change to my diet at breakfast without becoming Vegan or Vegetarian and still eat meat. It seems the carbon footprint of a croissant is greater than that of a bacon sarnie. Job jobbed
Just don’t be tempted to go the whole hog (sorry) and make it an “All-day breakfast”
I’ve got two Weleda toothpastes on the go at the minute…the calendula one and the Ratanhia….
I think they do a salt crystal version too…
But yes it does make you think really….
As an aside I want to be cremated (or maybe naturally composted and feeding a forest ) as I don’t want any future meta verse alt reality “scientists” digging me up in future and postulating and deliberating on what was or wasn’t wrong with me…I watch the “ask a mortician” series on YouTube…I like how she looks back through the centuries and looks to the future whilst maintaining a sense of humour and yes maybe embalming too isn’t so good for the environment
Used to cycle a lot until I was 60. BP too high which reduced my heart efficiency, but all is under control. So, I’m going to take up cycling again at 80, with an electric trike.
Will be, hopefully, electro-cycling to the supermarket 3 times a week. And exploring the countryside again with camera equipment.
Dirty old diesel Clio will be doing less polluting.
I’m also doing intermittent fasting to lose another 3 kilos of flab having already lost 3 kilos of flab (hate flab!), so am eating less, which also helps the environment.
The trike will have a carbon footprint so will have to make up for that by keeping fit!
An exciting new adventure……
Brian Cox?
Don’t understand - who’s Brian Cox?
UK TV’s pin-up physicist.
I know who this Brian Cox is - not sure how that relates to me. I’m certainly not a pin-up! Might have been once, but not now!
Sorry - misunderstood your comment - I thought you were asking who is Brian Cox.
Keyboard player for the 90s electropop band D.Ream
That’s OK SuePJ. I was wondering why taffy6 was referring to Brian Cox in regard to my post about my imminent purchase of an electric trike.
I bought some new clothes from H & M yesterday. One of the tops is made of 95% recycled materials which I though interesting!
Which is why the media usually say “Professor Brian Cox”.
Brian Cox now has a new novel catchphrase due to Succession - fans now ask him to tell them to “F**k Off”!
