European unanimity on football. European silence on genocide

The bloody shame of it. A bunch of overpaid, egotistical plonkers running around the pitch and diving more often than Jacques Cousteau. The modern day opiate of the people counts for more-than the slaughter of tens of thousands of women and children.

Bugger:enraged_face:

At least UEFA has spiked the shitty Kushners attempt to cash in.

Are you suggesting UEFA gets involved with politics or is this just a rant?

Wait, were folks expecting UEFA to send Referees to Gaza to give the IDF a red card?

Have I missed something?

No Tim. I am commenting on the widespread outrage at the idea of the World Cup being privatised and the widespread silence on the genocide in Gaza. In other words, Europe is far more concerned about a game than slaughter. And I find that shameful.

Why pick on Europe if you want to talk about Gaza, what has China, India or any of the Arab nations done to stop the slaughter?

No, but I think the EU should give Israel a red card and remove all of the special privileges it enjoys. Instead it’s business as usual.

We seem to have a lot of threads on Gaza already…

We do, Roger thinks we need another one.

I’m not Chinese, Indian nor Arab. :slightly_smiling_face: I don’t feel responsible for their foreign policies. I am, and always have been, a very proud and dedicated European and I’m ashamed that Europe is looking the other way.

Not enough evidently :face_with_hand_over_mouth: The slaughter continues.

Strongly agree with both your sentiments .. I am not really a Football fan ..never was but I would look at the World cup or Irish Internationals until they inevitably get beaten .. but beyond that no interest ..Actually about the same as I have for the Aintree Grand National .. might look at it .but would not rush home to see it.

But I was disgusted with the brazenness of the Infantini. Proposal …and applaud UeFA.

Except for Spain,Ireland ,Norway, Slovenia the silence by Europe on Gaza and Lebanon has been deafening… One can to an extent understand the German embarrassment ..even if not agreeing , but for the rest !!!.

I couldn’t agree more Dan :slightly_smiling_face:

Well we probably do because nobody is doing shit about Gaza and the bloody Israelis keep pushing into Gaza and the West Bank murdering and displacing innocent people as they do so.

It is depressing and the anger builds.

Is there an estimate on how many words on the subject the internet needs before they affect the IDF’s actions in any way?

Sums it up sadly.

Until the EU, the USA and the rest of the ME put the same economic restrictions and travel bans on Israel as they have on Russia (Germany’s buying Russian gas through 3rd parties notwithstanding), Israel is going to do exactly what they want.

Well the USA are never going to do that as they are so heavily influenced (controlled) by the Jewish lobby.

Well personally I don’t limit myself to the internet. I am very active in many ways, the least of which is drawing the attention of (the largely indifferent) SF community to what is happening in Gaza, The West Bank and Lebanon.

If you aren’t bothered to make an effort, sobeit, but don’t knock those that the are.

With all due respect, man up. Do something. Every little helps

If typing words on the internet changed anything, they wouldn’t let us do it.

But fill your boots if it makes you feel better.

You have missed my point completely. I don’t just type words on the internet. I do a hell of a lot more than that. However even just typing words raises awareness. What are YOU doing about this genocide? Even a spot of typing would help.

FFS are you not enraged that Israel has murdered plus/minus thirty thousand children? Do you not think of your children or grandchildren when you see the little mites starving in Gaza. With little medical aid and shitty well armed Israeli bastard snipers shooting them like pheasants. Where is your outrage at this?

We should be bombing Tel Aviv, not giving them bombs to kill women and children.
