Da Da…! Il est arrivé!
Now a fully paid up memeber. Let the fun begin!
Have fun
Very nice ![]()
Thanks - certainly an improvement on the old fashioned Rensult quality. Maybe the Chinese have rattled them to buck up their image.
Not totally happy though - the published range for the csr is 370 but I only showed 283 this morning on a full charge. I appreciate that the real range would be lower, but 25ish%…?![]()
If you live on the top of a hill and the journey from the garage was short ,it will have calculated range on the information it has ..basically it uses the KWhrs consumed getting home ,the distance covered and then the charge in the battery.
If you can choose to display Km per Kwh you can monitor how different driving styles affect your range.
As Dan said, the previous drive information will have an effect on the reported range you see, that will change over time depending of course on how you drive it. Imagine if they did that with ICE cars more, I know some can.
That sounds about right, I’ve never managed anywhere near the “publshed” range. Might get nearer to it if I drove in Eco mode all the time, but life’s too short.
As has anyone driving there ICE car…![]()
I ignore the range estimate, especially on the R5 (where if it’s cold it can tank alarmingly), it’s more accurate on the i4 but I still wouldn’t trust it. I use the % left to decide when and where I charge.
Have fun![]()
We’ve just driven up to Holland and sometimes the guessometer is quite scary. Then we have to stop for a pee anyway and all’s fine again.
Yes, I quickly learned today that zi should just treat the car as I did my ICE cars, by just driving it ![]()
It is a real powerhouse. The low down torque is amazing.
And instant (ISH) compared to ICE, that was the thing I noticed most when I hired the first one.
Electric (and steam
) engines produce 100% torque from zero revs on.
I drive in Eco mode all the time and find it very quick from standing start and general driving.
The best part is there is no risk of stalling.
I use a setting in between sport and eco (sport drains the battery quickly and probably doesn’t do much for front tyre life either) so if I ever do use eco mode it feels sluggish.
Totally agree! In Eco, it feels like I am dragging an anchor behind!
I sort of like the one pedal setting (not sure if the R5e has a recharge regulator?) for urban use, but sorry, it is only the Sport setting for me having tried it. OK, I pay the price - this morning I note that a full charge gives me only a range 250kms!
But I am going to look at the car as a nippy car with a small fuel tank and just plug it in each time I come home, and for any long trips, just be cool and drink lots of coffee..!
I really do not want to get into range anxiety and be the proverbial dinner party bore…![]()
Mine doesn’t have a one pedal setting ( not sure I’d like it
) but it does have regenerative braking. Right attitude towards range ![]()
, enjoy but watch out for les flics ![]()
Despite having our EV for 3 months now, this weekend will be the first time we take her on a long-ish journey, as we’re heading to Limoges which is about 220KMs away. The furthest I’ve driven her so far in one trip is only about 100 KMs so I shall be watching the battery range very closely ![]()
We stopped at a Kia garage to look at an EV2 but thought it too ugly to spend any more time there. Pity because it is said to perform well.
