After switching 2 people to ‘ignore’ I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m probably the problem so I’ve asked @billybutcher to deactivate my account. It’s been very interesting discussing all sorts of things over the years and I wish you all well!

I think it’s wrong to “ignore” anyone - though I’m fully aware you won’t see this 
- you’re entitled to disagree. But I don’t think feeling like you should “ignore” people should lead you to leave.
As @cat wisely reminded us a few days ago, it’s hot and tempers shorten accordingly. Take a break, as our lapine friend did, and then decide whether you really want to lose all of the camaraderie, the whack-a-Farage fun, the recipes, my contributions (too late), …
It’s two people out of many, vero. I’m very sorry to see you go, I suppose you wouldn’t reconsider?

Please reconcider Vero. You seem to have had far more experience of life than many on here. I find your contributions invaluable. At the very least could you not reincarnate as a rabbit or some other creature.

I really wish you wouldn’t go @vero . I find you to be funny, acerbic and intelligent. Your insight from the mix of your heritage and life experiences is invaluable in my eyes and something the site doesn’t have from anyone else. If you do go, I’ll really miss you. Don’t let the fact that you disagree with people make you think that your the problem. Your definitely not.

Urgh I’m feeling conflicted now and really don’t want to be a prima donna or even worse appear to be pulling a farage (v topical). Honestly I think you’re better off without me. I have hugely enjoyed reading and discussing all sorts with you but all good things must come to an end - so bonne continuation 
If someone just pushes your buttons then it’s sometimes the best tactic.

Absolutely not, no way. Your contribution is SO important, on so many levels. Not least, although you are French, you also bring such a cosmopolitan perspective to this forum.
You also are intelligent, well read in several languages and have a wealth of life experience that I, for one, really appreciate.
You would be sorely missed. Please rethink - it is very hot and not the moment to be deciding.
I also think there is a danger in thinking because someone else on here behaves in a particular way that verges on the unacceptable, that somehow it is your “fault”.
One of the ways I have dealt with “stuff” in the past is just not to post for a bit. And quietly ignore the person who is getting under my skin, without telling them. They don’t need to know.
It’s important not to “flounce off” - that means they have a minor victory, which they do not deserve.
Please stay.

I have to say, the discussion on this site has deteriorated over the years. Less and less of the real help and banter that there used to be and more confrontational style conversation. I’m not singling out any particular members in this, but it’s been a gradual slide that’s been contributed to by many members old and new. It’s sad really and perhaps that’s what has got you down as it has with me. If it continues to get worse then I’ll probably be joining you at the exit.

Please reconsider Vero. There are some people on here who have me reaching for the ‘ignore’ button on a regular basis but you have never been one of them. Please consider staying so you can continue to add your erudite and informative comments - including solving those language conundrums we all experienced. Just don’t pick fights with the idiots - they’ll beat you on experience every time.
