I’ve actually assisted in orthognathic surgery so I am not the least bit squeamish at your descriptions and very familiar with the type of work you had. Your fees however seem extraordinarily large for that type of surgery. Your hospital very likely received 1/10th of what they billed for from the insurance company though, that’s how insurance companies work, and without going into a very lengthy reply, an additional reason why costs are so outrageous here.
.Oh, interesting.
I assumed that the hospital wasn’t paid the entire amount, but I really was only interested in what I had to pay. At the time, I worked in the public sector and had really good insurance, so my portion was pretty small. My appendix burst the year before my jaw surgery, and I was in the hospital for five days with that. I received quite a bit of care from the nurses, compared to when I had jaw surgery. While I don’t remember what that bill came to, it was quite a bit less.
Thr French government has abandoned its proposal to swap the 10% abattement on pensions for a fixed allowance of €2000..
Having been first to the table with 2025, and extended by @george1 into 2026, I have another graundiad article to post with the 2026 budget, no detail of course. Perhaps one of the less ‘puff piece, left wing slant/bias’ articles which the paper has been accused of recently. One might almost think there’s an online campaign to discredit the rag! Surely not?
