Cases have been rising steadily in Manche for a wee while now. Yesterday, in our local town, I saw several small shops with notices on the door saying that they were closed for a bit because they were affected by Covid. First time I’ve seen this locally.
Same in UK. Cases up, and not sure why. Especially ages 30-40.
I have a feeling it’s because people are back at work mixing indoors again and poor hygiene/ lack of precautions, plus contacts of infected people no longer have to be tested in the UK so are running round infecting everyone including at work.
I think (hope) we just need to be aware and keep taking sensible precautions until we see how this pans out.
It feels a little like the floodgates have opened now people are officially not wearing masks any more.
Bizarre thing this morning, we entered Leclerc when it opened and several people were turned away because they weren’t a mask as they thought the restrictions had ended.
Monday the rules pretty much vanish bar trains and medical establishments so hardly surprising there’s date confusion
It’s been widely advertised… 14th is the date… yet many folk started throwing away/ignoring masks as soon as they read/heard the News.

4th covid jab is recommended for those over 80 who received their last jab more than 3 months ago… amongst other good news…
Saturday figures looking better…
I think France 24 is saying we are being too complacent. I for one will continue to wear my mask.
They are probably correct. I will stay masked (FFP2 to protect me) when ever I have to go somewhere with lots of people I don’t know for now.
France is suggesting folk continue to wear masks if they wish to from Monday (as well as those places where they still must)… and, of course, to continue with the gel/distance/common sense stuff as well… and the extra jab for the 80+ and “infirm/dodgy health” folk…
Advice for all of us as from 14th March… continue to be careful
Tuesday 15th March

The number of people wearing masks round here is decreasing markedly. So I’ve found the copper based mask that I wore at the beginning of all this. It protects me somewhat - copper is anti-bacterial / anti-viral - as well as acting as a protective barrier for others.
In our village, oldies are masking-up when in groups on the pavements… younger ones without a mask but deferential/carefull as they approach… which is lovely to note.
Folk seem concerned that covid will re-visit before summer blitzes it… and we’ve already suffered enough deaths.
Further afield, no idea… not likely to find out as we are conserving our petrol.
