Just saw on Connexion that a Senator Imbert has introduced an amendment to a debate next week, proposing a special visa for third country nationals who own property in France.
It will allow people to spend six months in every year in country. That is, up to c 180 days at one stretch. Visa will last five years.

Presumably possession of a visa would circumvent ETIAS/ EES
Whether it does or does not it still sounds like a bit of possibly good news.
This is soooo far off being an actual thing. It has only been agreed by the Senate, and there will be opposition to it as it goes through the legislative stages so I am not putting a centime on it actually happening!!
It’s not been agreed by the senate yet! The debate is next week. Connexion seemed to think it had better prospects because it isn’t Brit specific this time. Fingers crossed for the people who might benefit…

The debate has happened! It’s just the formal Senat vote next week. If you read the summary of the debates so far the “british exception” sticks out like a sore thumb amidst all the other tightening of requirments. So I doubt it will survive.
The 5 year visa has been rejected, however the senate have agreed to take forward that all second home owners could be exempt from the 90/180 rule, upon proof of ownership. How it would work in practice is another story. Still a long way and time from being agreed but you never know.
There seemed to be some optimism that it would be less contentious by making it any third country owner, rather than just British. Maybe Lord Cameron can put in a good word, now he’s back
good grief… let’s NOT get him involved… far more chance with “all 3rd worlders” than anything a bit special for Brits…

It will be interesting to see if this “special” bit for Brits does get through… perhaps it might lead to other “Brexit punishments” being lifted/eased…
