Horizon scandal

She perjured herself to the wrong people. Only the highest punishment possible will send a message to their like. Oh and chuck away the key!

There are calls for her to return her £3m bonus along with the CBE, personally I think she should do exactly that. Perhaps by the mechanism of giving each of the 700 victims the £4k and a bit in cash while ensuring she looks them in the eye.

She’s another one who, like JRM, professes deep spirituality but appears not to want to bother with any inconvenient behaviours like charity which that might involve.

I’ve said it before “right wing Christian” is an oxymoron.

What a good idea, go around personally and hand out the cheques, humble pie indeed. Oh and appologise to each and every one.

They were not the Samaritans, but seem to have hijacked that story.

Gosh no, tenners - a cheque remains too divorced from the enormity of what has been done to these people.

Oh, I’d forgotten that. Seems I was wrong and there is a god after all… Her prayers were seemingly answered as the news coverage was all about the General Election yesterday.

As far as I can tell, it’s an allegation by interested parties rather than a fact.

Of course, allegations reported gleefully by both the Right-wing press (because they dislike evangelicalism and its bias to the poor) and the Guardian (because of its atheism).

The archbishop said he was “not able to confirm or deny whether Ms Vennells was interviewed” for roles due to confidentiality.

So even Welby cannot answer a simple question of history, prefering to hide behind “confidentiality” another lying two faced. We’ll take it as a yes then.

Well, whether she was interviewed is a different question to whether he supported her.

I found this document which suggests Welby is right in saying that the names of candidates is something to be kept confidential:

Surely we’d expect the names of job applicants - or candidates being considered for jobs - to be considered confidential.

If not, where would it end? Is every organisation in the UK to be under a duty to publish every job candidate long-list in case it contains a name which people find unpalatable? Or is it just when it’s the Church of England?

At the time yes, but down the line no.

Did anyone else get the impression Janey Godal was doing a voice over for Livingstone Brown when asking Paula Vennels questions about Scottish affairs this afternoon?

Interesting revelations today. Seems she removed pertinent information from the floatation prospectus, that’s firmly in fraud territory. Having relentlessly persecuted innocents for fraud, her being banged up for fraud would be so just.

Henry and Stein had her measure early on. Pity that the old fart (who is he ?) chairman kept protecting her thus not allowing them to go in for the kill.

The one thing I did like was Stein commenting on her: ‘preaching compassion but not practicing compassion’ - imo, this applies to many, if not most, of these priest types.
