It has been a horror show. Too late Locking Down, Herd immunity, Follow the science(Whose Science?)
Not having enough PPE for Frontline Staff, (Ventilators? What Ventilators) I could go on but it will not get any better. Finally CARE HOME DEATHS:
Listening at the radio today I was reminded of how talented BJ is. Heâs an expert at not answering the question he has been asked while finding enough about subjects that have previously been broached to bore the pants of everyone listening.
The trouble is that I have a nasty feeling that the, I love Boris brigade, actually believe that he has come out on top.
A very warm welcome @lindaw Linda! What took you so long? Weâve been looking forward to your joining our circle

Make yourself at home!
Thank you,
Hi Linda, Clearly you are intelligent and well informed.
Watch out for the latest introductory phrase "I think itâs very important - " to recognise when you are about to hear another load of lies and waffle!
Totally agree!
Iâm getting increasingly concerned about the huge increase in hearts going out without any concern for social distancing. There is nothing to reassure me that it is not hazardous for hearts to go out willy-nilly to the friends, families and colleagues of stricken individuals, when goodness knows how many of these hearts are going to converge in one place, for example a private dwelling, where vulnerable people are in confinement.
And who knows whether these hearts have any compunction about getting up close, or have access to PPE adapted to their unusual shape. Thereâs also no information on what these hearts are going to do when they have done their solemn duty.
Itâs quite on the cards that they might decide to congregate somewhere for a convivial pint, and then make their way back to their point of origin, carrying (quite probably) virus picked haplessly on their âgoing-outâ pĂ©rĂ©grinations from other hearts in the process.
I think itâs important to reconsider this practice of letting hearts go out, without science-based protocols, on public health grounds. What do others think?
Me too. It isnât all over. It hasnât even been allowed to really get going. Another six weeks of lockdown will be a heavy price to pay for a few days of hedonistic celebration.
Well this time in two weeks the next peak should be starting to hit
@vero, do you think I should labour the point about the aberrant hearts, Véronique, or have I hopelessly overshot my target? Again!?
Put me out of my misery, but no condolĂ©ances qui viennent du cĆur svp
@Peter_Goble
I am just a horrible person so when I see someone laying it on with a trowel about how their heart goes out to all and sundry I think hypocrite! creep! liar! fraud! and wish they could just go up in a puff of smoke.
But as I say I am not very nice.
You couldnât make it up, could you?
No - but the headline and 1st line of the rubric conspire to give the impression that the 15,000 fines were incorrectly levied which is not the case.
I give up
Except for French lorry-drivers and itinerant French Onion Vendors en vélo.
They havenât a clue, and still the deaths mount.
Government backtracks on French quarantine exemption
I reiterate:
Normally Iâm a big fan of Hanlonâs razor, but the present government is incompetent on such an industrial scale - mixed messages, last minute about turns, lying and plain denial of truth, slavish dogma - that I am starting to think it is all a constant, deliberate attempt to demoralise and divide any opposition. The faithful are already converted, the rest of us need to be beaten into place. I feel like a latter day Winston Smith
They could still be seen in Lampeter when I lived there. I heard they arrived in a large lorry that they parked discretely out of sight and visited from time to time to reload their handlebars. Very good onions.
