Lucky you.
Worth a try, when they said after a year I assumed it was an annual contract. I just sent them this by email and registered letter.
Bonjour,
Thank you for your help. It is much appreciated.
Btw that sort of tied sale of insurance is also illegal in France. For sure the salesman is earning extra commission and possibly at a higher rate for every âextra"â policy he aells. iâll bet you a dime to a dollar his commission is protected if you keep the policy for min. 6 months but not if less.
Since youâve mentioned Que Choisir I suggest you contact them. I think the wording is âvente forcĂ©eâ.
You donât need that inaurance provided your kids understand that if you kixk the bucket before leaae end tbe rest of the lease will still have to be paid.
What is a DIPE?

Itâs what the life insurance cover is called on the leasing document.
Allright. I suppose it is the same as âune assurance dĂ©cĂšsâ.
Interesting that in English itâs called âlifeâ insurance and in French âdeathâ insurance. ![]()
The French are correct,
Life insurance should be for critical illness policies and income continuation plans but hey the name stuck so there you go.
Yes, is it not? There are many other translations that are irritating at times. But as my French teacher said, âDo not translate literally.â ![]()
