Mine are, and I wish mine we’re in their fifties. Actually no, much earlier as I shattered my left kneecap when I was 19 and it’s never been the same ![]()
As I said a bit early when en vacances, I did check the temp at 8:30 and it was already 25°
We’re getting up lateish trying to maximise r&r for this trip. The sun is strong but air coll at 9am this morning. Bedroom was at 27 last night, 21 this morning.
We drove over to Etang sur Arroux yesterday, saw a high of 34.5 while driving, though mostly 32-33. The sky is very clear here today, and it’s going to be hot again. We’re going out to explore and will walk, then cool off in the car.
Good to get the early morning sunshine on the body, relax read a book etc whilst absorbing the not so strong UV for your body to produce vitamin D and improve mitochondrial health.
Then keep out of the strong sun.
Early morning, straight from bed, is the best time for swimming in the pond. The heat in the water of the previous day has barely dissipated overnight and is much closer to the early morning chill of the new day.
Usually too busy at that time though, sadly. ![]()
Edit: Just got back from a midday swim. Pond is 20 , shade around it 29. Lovely, but would have been less of a shock at 7am. ![]()
A good, solid 29 here at 1pm.
30 in SE London, you are not trying hard enough ![]()
It got to 33 (32.8 according to my weather station)in the frozen north today
2pm today in the Haute-Vienne it was 34c…
34 on the road to Autun (couldn’t find a way to fit Ry Cooder in there) but just 32 in Cussy.
You may have guessed, I had The Road To Hell in mind.
Wasn’t that Chris Rea?
That could be why then. ![]()
Love the wooly hats, but how can anyone play the sax sitting down??
We now have puddles in our courtyard.
Not seen them for months.
