It’s not that sunny today (yesterday was a scorcher) - just oppressive heat.
I’ve just cleaned out my henhouse and feel as if I’m about to die. Also look as if made of beetroot which is delightful.
Conjures up quite a picture! Just thinking of the tricolor… perhaps blue nail varnish? ![]()
So, just to prove me wrong, it’s now brilliant sunshine and, if anything, slightly hotter.
If I am working in the extreme heat I get into the pool whenever necessary cool off for a bit before starting work again. But the sort of temeperatures people are enduring I may not do so much work.
It’s blazing here… too hot to be outside… so I’m sitting at my desk translating for a friend… in a comfortable 23c… sipping a cuppa just brewed by OH (what a treasure…)
I actually went and stuck my head under a cold tap for a few minutes during break half-way through yesterday afternoon (4 hours in a baking hot classroom).
Believe that bullturd and you will Believe owt
Its 31 outside in Malakoff (Paris)
I did ours in the heat 2 days ago, had no choice as had to move a broody into the small coop after picking up some eggs from La Force and then we had to chicken wrangle the 4 who had been in there into the bigger coop at bedtime! We were sweating and beetroot like as well after that, even at 9.15!
Today been cleaning my filthy, filthy car. Hubby said it looked more like the inside of a tractor
. It has its CT Friday so needed to make the effort! Just stopped for cold water before I do the seats.
That was my exact point, the idea that moisturiser will solve problems is bizarre but it a huge industry and a huge number of bottlrs and jars in the bathroom compared to my razor, foam and toothbrush ![]()

I could say what it would solve at the risk of getting chucked of here.

Jim did ours the other day.
Four eggs today.
Today was better than yesterday but perhaps because, after a telling off from Gill for not turning the clima on for Fran early enough uesterday, I turned it on earlier today. Trouble is it is in the kitchen next to her room and needs to do a 180 turn to send cold air there. I ordered a folding screen but it won’t arrive till the end of the week so in the meantime I pulled a curtain across to steer the cold air away from the kitchen and into the bedroom .
For me, on both days the pond in the shade of the trees was a welcome relief. ![]()
You need to be out there at 7am. Trust me. I know what I’m talking about ![]()

Probably true but I’m supposed to be having a holiday as well.
Lovely cool air at 7am as I drive to work through the vineyards watching out for chevreuils etc.
OH and self (sans poodle) did a 13km walk today in the Lot Valley starting at 9am - mixture of forest and open countryside with a 500m ascent and descent over very rough tracks. Shade temps in high 20s to lo 30s, but the dry heat wasn’t uncomfortable. Though do wish my knees were still in their sixties!
