Talk about right hand and left hand! Message from a friend who is having the same problems. Her experience with Agen, somewhat different from mine:
"I had two replies today. This morning’s was an acknowledgment and told me that my question was being referred to an expert. Then this afternoon. I received the message “il s’agit d’une anomalie, je viens de corriger”. I then checked my attestation and he had indeed amended it and it runs for one year. I am lucky my question got through to someone sensible. However I shall keep an eye on it just in case someone else intervenes and changes it back. I don’t trust them. The name of the “expert” who dealt with me is Olivier Giordan."
I’ve had the Brexit excuse this morning from Lot-et-Garonne. Letter on Ameli …
I have changed my opening post to say this. What I originally wrote here is no longer relevant, nor indeed most of the subsequent discussion, so in case anyone is coming late to this discussion, the current situation is that the French govt are throwing doubt on the position of S1 category carte vitale holders in the light of “uncertainty” over Brexit and the WA. Lot-et-Garonne is just ahead of the curve. other departments are likely to follow.
If you are in this position of having your carte vitale curtailed at the end of December, I suggest you write to the UK embassy and the Brexit negotiating team. This now goes beyond what any individual can do within their own department.

Interesting that they are saying that when it’s only the Northern Ireland part of the WA that is uncertain.
I hope you get clarity on the S1 situation soon.
In one of my contacts with Ameli, they referred to my needing to update my paperwork. I have just spoken to The NHS Overseas Healthcare Services helpline: +44 (0) 191 218 1999.
She tells me they are aware of this and because we have been here so long (13 years) we have an old S1. This just needs to be changed to a new S1. She’s confirmed our details and says this will be in the post in 4-6 weeks.
Regardless now of the whys and wherefores of what’s going on, I suggest if any of you have been here a long time like us, you apply for a new S1. Not least, if we do have to reregister post-Brexit already having a new S1 form will help expedite the process. Hope this helps.
I have just phoned that number and (finally) spoken to Kieran…
he took all details and confirmed that NO neither OH nor I need a new S1…
“So long as you have already registered your S1 and are in the French System… you do not need a new S1.”
I explained we had done that, back in the year dot… and the ruckus and upset all this uncertainty is causing many Brits in France… and he was quite charming… but firm… NO… No new S1… not for us…
So… not a lot more I can do at the moment… OH has promised to stay as fit as he can until I see that end date moves … into 2021… on our Attestations…
Checked our S1’s and they were only issued 6 years ago to our current address. As per @Stella I think we will get similar short shrift too so I think we will let sleeping dogs lie and address any issues if and when they arise rather than tempt providence…
I know it doesn’t help @SuePJ but I really wonder if LeG CPAM have jumped the gun somewhat causing unnecessary stress.
I’d be interest to see what @fabien has to say on this and whether he can offer some grains of comfort
Not quite true Peter. Although the UK position is that it might only break the NI part of the WA, the EU’s position, and the prospective legal action, does not relate specifically to this, but to the general ‘good faith’ clauses - ie. it is the principle of breaking the agreement, rather than the specific aspect broken, that is now in question, so I fear the whole WA is indeed uncertain.
Ameli now tell me that it is only the Attestation document which expires 31.12.20… and that my Rights are well and truly Open… and that I can print out another Attestation for the full 12 months, when this current Attestation expires…
still seems a bit odd… but nothing is going to put me off of Sausage Toad… the yorkshire is rising beautifully… going to be yummy
Yes, still rather odd, Stella, as when ever I go on my attestation is dated that day for a year i.e. if I ask for one tomorrow it’ll be dated 08/10/20 - 07/10/21. I still think it’ll all come out in the wash before the end of the year, hopefully before the end of the month for all those who are worried/affected by this
On France 3 this morning, the magazine programme « Le goût des rencontres » someone was cooking a soup on a wood range for a senior’s birthday party which included the addition of boudin noir and haricot noir, choux and other bits… looked yummy!
