Thank goodness – it does seem to prove that Macron read the room correctly as long as the bad guys stay disorganized and the good guys not only demonstrate against the right but actually vote.
Well it seems like musical chairs currently, some leaving, some amalgamating and some just hiding away. Going to be interesting to see who actually turns up eventually.
I’ve always had a thing about public sector productivity. In France they go for over staffing rather than over paying, which is better.

That was a big gripe in my old commune whereby that had been just the secretary to the maire for many years then she was allowed an assistant as things got more and more complicated paperwork-wise. Eventually we ended up with three women in the main office, one of whome dealt with the post side of things but that was only mornings and only three mornings per week so god knows what she did the rest of the time as she was not qualified to do the mairie work and she was also a gossip so you never told her anything you didn’t want the commune to know. Now I see they have just two women for everything!

Sounds like we have the opposite… one Secretaire, highly-trained, very efficient and totally discreet.
She is sometimes aided by the Adjoints… if she’s in the middle of Accounts/Returns etc (any stuff which is better not interrupted)… they can answer the phone, take messages etc and sometimes answer very basic, simple enquiries…

Each commune is different, run in different ways too! I got trusted to help myself to the keybox when it was my turn to open the two churches for visitors in the summer. Going back to the original thread, just seen all the anti-RN marches going on today all over the country. Just shows not everyone wants MLP/JB taking over and in-fighting is laughable, must be something catching from across the channel from that dozy lot in No10
