Somewhat cutting your nose off to spite your face, as my grandmother used to say, but you do you.
Trust me John, my life would not be enhanced by using Facebook, Instagram, TikToc, X or any other online source of neurone destroying dopamine addiction, apart from SurviveFrance of course. ![]()
Well John_Scully that makes two of us who refuse to sell out!
As my nine year old daughter was told by a malicious (and one could add philistine) classmate when she tried to instigate a âSecret Sevenâ in her class, âmaybe you could start a secret oneâ.
We @CaptainMorgan can be a secret two ![]()
Not so sure about that ![]()
Iâm not going to argue with you but, personally, Iâve found it enormously helpful in navigating French life but each to their own.
Does anyone know how to mute or ignore someone when their public profile is hidden?
Hello Brian, yes.
Click the persons name, then when their profile comes up click their name again. You will get this screen on the right it will say NORMAL, click the drop down and you get the option to mute etc.
I think not Kim, when their profile is hidden, which is @_Brian 's issue. I posted on the same thing a few years back and was given the answer by Stella.
wow, Iâd forgotten this⊠and it does still work

I thought you could mute it if you could see their name but not their actual profile.
But if this works then excellent.
Must confess, Iâd be interested to know what kind of lawyer âtoldâ youâŠ
Was it a Notaire or an Avocat?
anyway, Iâm glad to see that @kim is able to advise you correctly !!
Absolute nonsense!!! I hope you didnât pay them for the poor advice!!! The prefectures donât seem to know what to do with us! It took me over a year to finally get a decent answer and it was a bloody nightmare as my son was still under 18 but needed to get one as he was doing an apprentiship so was supposed to have it but they would never give me an answer.
. i eventually did get an email answer telling me to fill in a form and post it to the prefecture (24). It WASNâT a Brexit / WARP form, just thier regular one off thier website but I plastered all over it that it was an application for WARP! In the end I didnât send it as we realised he was totally entitled to his french nationality (CNF) so we did that (which was super easy and he had it in about 2 weeks!) but he was born here so doesnât apply to you. I did it all in April so if I can help just yell!
Itâs an Avocat whoâs words were âMy team is firm on this point, it is too late for article 50 withdrawal agreement treatment of the claim, and your son will fit neatly under the provisions of article 423-1 of the CESEDAâ.
We had explained the specific situation (lived in France since 2015, had DCEM, under 18 in 2020 and now turning 18).
I didnât agree with the advice, but as mentioned the Prefecture had also said to submit an online application, hence desperately searching for the correct information. I have today told the Avocat that we will not be retaining them for my sonâs CdS. Once we have it, I will let them know what we did.
I am sincerely grateful for @kim providing a lifeline and to @toryroo for sharing her sonâs situation.
What I canât believe as a supposed legal service they havenât even bothered to check the Service-Public website as it mentions kids under the InstallĂ© en France avant 30 Dec 2020.
Absolutely incredible, and as for your prefecture not knowing that kids are required to apply for an Art50 on reaching 18.

What a twit! I really hope you didnât have to pay him! Just shocking!!!
Exactly, it is all quite clear, even being able to ask from 16 if they need it for work / apprenticeship reasons! Which my son did and they never got on with giving me an answer, luckily he got away with it but even so! Shocking that both lawyers and prefectures canât get it right!!! I even wrote to the MOI about it and they only help they gave was to keep asking the pref ![]()
I have emailed the Prefecture with the information recommended by @kim and team. I will provide an update as I have one. Thank you to everyone for your contribution. Fingers crossed.
Response from Prefecture - Apply on line using link âvie privĂ©e et familialeâ . Groan.
Keep going we will beat them into submission ![]()
An update: Despite sending the email 3 times and no response, not even an acknowledgement. Deeply frustrating
