Am sure we have all seen this one….

First saw Freddy Mercury, without moustache, on Top of the Pops back in when I can’t remember, but he was naked to the waste, glistening and wearing cold lame tights - something like that - and my prudish mind said he was going nowhere. How wrong I was.

Great composer, singer and performer. Great presence…

New album from Neil Young. It’s imaginatively titled ‘Barn’ as it’s recorded in one.
Neil, Billy Talbot and Frank Molina are all 76+. Nils Lofgren is the youngster at just 70. One day Neil’s guitar will fall silent. Not too soon I hope!

What if Guns n Roses had come from Bavaria (with a little tip of the hat to Madness)

I enjoy this for the sheer insanity of a guitar-playing rabbit running through an airport.

And a reminder we sometimes need.

I watched a BBC documentary of Shirley Bassey rehearsing and recording her first CD around 2009 at the age of 72. In the past, she always sang at her loudest, which I didn’t always appreciate. She appeared at the BBC rehearsals au naturale without wig or makeup and sang her new songs in much more mellow tones, which I prefer.

This is one of them….

I’m not a jazz fan but like this piece, Sing Sing Sing, from 1938 – Benny Goodman and the drummer Gene Krupa at Carnegie Hall. Love drums….

I learnt last night that Bob Scaggs refused to let Lowdown be used in Saturday Night Fever - BIG mistake.

The cast loved this - easy to hear why …
