Muting a forum member

Yep, click on their avatar and then click on their name to go to their profile page. Then select the dropdown option that by default says “Normal” and choose either Muted or Ignored:

Thanks @Gareth . I have attempted that but it doesn’t work. When I click on the avatar nothing happens. Tried it on others and it does work.

It appears the reason is the profile is a secret one. Doesn’t seem quite logical that I could choose to prevent others from muting me?

Muting 'hidden' individuals

To mute someone, I usually click on their avatar, select their profile and choose ‘mute’ from the drop down list. There’s someone I’d like to mute at the moment, but when I try to do so I receive a message to say that their public profile is hidden - so I’m unable to get to the drop down list. Is there an alternative method of muting? Thanks in advance, Brian

Go into your own profile, then preferences and users

Should be able to add the user to your list of muted users from there
