Newsletter

Well you have been a busy, busy lot this week and the network is busier than ever. We are now not far off 1000 members which is pretty amazing and the Facebook page is also going from strength to strength. Unfortunately we didn't hit our FB target of 1000 likes by last Sunday evening - which was a shame although James is thankful that his body hair has remained its natural colour.....

Loads of new people have joined this week so a big, friendly SF "hello" to you all. Don't forget that you can posts links to your blogs or websites directly from SFN. Just go to "MY PAGE" and update your status. It's a great way of telling everybody what you are up to!

If you need a website James Burton is very generously offering free website design for SF members. See his page for details. Renny Thompson is a metal worker and can make just about anything from hinges to gates to fireguards and fencing. Check out his page for some great images and a link to his site.

French electrics are often dodgy, especially in older properties so if you need a qualified electrician, look no further, Paul Bird covers Aquitaine and the Midi-Pyrenees. He's happy to do full or partial re-wires, fault finding, safety testing, fuse board upgrades, emergency call outs and even install sockets! Feel free to call him directly on 06 26 28 24 42.

Tony Tidswell is in the Languedoc and has the very lovely Villa Roquette for rent and apparently the pool is still in use. So if you need a pre-winter break.....And if you need to find out more about the area, Annette Morris and Miles Barrington have just launched Languedoc-Midi.info complete with a great listings section where local businesses can currently be listed FOC. Contact them for more details.

To celebrate the first anniversary of Facilitutors, Wendy Wise is offering SFN members who run courses, a years's free advertising at half price - just 39€. She will also include a free advert in French and can write the ad if required.

And yet another discount - you lucky lot! Peter Driscoll is offering a whopping 10% discount on all new pet insurance policies. See his page for full details.

Now we all know how difficult it can be to find individual, well made clothes that are a bit out of the ordinary in France... Caro Worboys is holding a clothes sale in her workshop in La Bastide (64) on Sunday 31st October from 10 till 6. Get in touch with Caro directly to find out more!

And on the subject of shopping - there's been a lot of debate lately about using UK delivery services. If you're considering this, do check out Rosalyn Chapman's page and read her blog on the subject.

One thing most of us miss is curry and whilst you can make your own, it's not always the same... Jon Davis runs GetCurryDAway and holds regular curry nights in Roquecor. He is now taking private bookings for the Christmas period, so if you are craving a Korma or needing some Naan bread, get in touch!

That's about it for this week, feel free to get in touch at any point if there is something you would like mentioned in the next newsletter. Friday is really deadline day, so please try and let me know sooner rather than later. And please make sure that you add any links / special offers / information to your page on SFN. We are now becoming so busy that including multiple links in the newsletter is too time consuming. It makes my life a lot easier if any information is also on your SFN page - thank you!

Have a great week and for those of you with kids, good luck 'surviving' half term!
